Am I the only person who finds vintage guitars seem to have a personality to the tone. And they can vary from example to example. Modern guitars seem to all sound exactly the same or at least close across the board. Even if I was blind folded just listening. I could spot you the 1952 over the modern in this video. What I'm talking about is especially relevant with gibson acoustics. My vintage gibsons have personality and richness. Every modern gibson I pick up either sounds muffled/ dead like it needs 20 years to open up or exactly the same as one another example to example. I assume this is done on purpose for sales and manufacturing. But it seems to loose it's soul to me.

Hard to tell on an iPad but I thought maybe the TC had its trebles slightly clipped, slightly less harsh but otherwise pretty similar

I played many models in Nashville. Not impressed. Set up was not that great. Tone was very bright on all models and basically priced same or more than Martins / D18. Nothing against Chinese guitars as I own a nice $3000 classical from China. But these are priced the same as Martins and they are not better and they won’t hold the value also.

Dylan's Nick Lucas did not have an inlay on the first fret. The tone of the "recreation" seems to sound very different than Bob's did. The Dylan guitar was in fact a signature sound for Dylan.

Kylie has the best tone and cleanest playing I have heard on RUclips ! Not quite sure how she achieves that great tone on even modest mandolins. Magic ? :-)
